Free Vladimir Kara-Murza

Vladimir Kara-Murza is a Russian democracy activist who has been a powerful voice for human rights, rule of law, and freedom in Russia and an outspoken critic of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine. He also serves as our Senior Advisor for Human Rights Accountability.

Kara-Murza was arrested in Russia in 2022 for speaking out against that government’s brutality in Ukraine and at home, convicted of “high treason” in a sham trial, and sentenced in 2023 to 25 years in prison.

We are working to publicize Vladimir’s arbitrary imprisonment and #FreeKaraMurza. Click below to learn more.

Please contact your representatives and urge the State Department to designate Vladimir Kara-Murza as “wrongfully detained” as a step toward seeking his release.
