The L.A. Timesreports that an attempt by a CIA spokesperson to convince Senate aides that everything is on the up and up with the highly unusual investigation of the CIA Inspector General failed to accomplish its goal. Senate staffers remain concerned that the investigation of the investigator was prompted by the IG’s decision to take a critical look at the CIA’s detention and interrogation policies.
