Four years after President Obama signed an executive order to ban torture, we’re still debating whether it saved American lives. Why? Because the most authoritative record of the CIA’s post-9/11 “enhanced interrogation” program remains classified. News broke recently that the CIA has edited the script for the Academy-Award winning film, Zero Dark Thirty,–raising much needed attention to the CIA’s role in actively shaping the torture debate.
