Afghans in the United States since certain dates are eligible for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) because conditions in Afghanistan temporarily prevent them from returning to that country safely.
Temporary Protected Status is available to Afghans who have been in the United States since March 15, 2022, and who have continuously resided in the U.S. since May 20, 2022.
To qualify, you must file your TPS application by November 20, 2023.
