Human Rights First Marks the 18th Anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks

Washington, D.C.Today Human Rights First issued the following statement marking the 18th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, that resulted in the deaths of nearly three thousand people:

This day we remember the nearly three thousand lives taken from us in a cruel act of terrorism, and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure such an act never occurs again. We stand with and offer our condolences to their families, pledging to honor the fallen by upholding the very ideals they held most dear.

This pledge means we must work to ensure that our nation, and world, are guided by freedom, peace, and security—for all.

We must remember that the United States is strongest when we adhere to our ideals and the rule of law, and today we rededicate ourselves to this mission.
