I am inside the United States

Human Rights First

Since August 2021, tens of thousands of Afghans have arrived in the United States. The majority have been paroled into this country for a two-year period.

Refugee Resettlement Assistance

Once you leave a Safe Haven military base in the United States, you can apply for resettlement assistance if you have not already received it.

To receive refugee resettlement assistance, you MUST contact a local affiliate of the Afghan Placement and Assistance (APA) Program within 90 days of leaving the base.

Making our welcome more permanent

PALA, refugee resettlement agencies, and other community organizations have come together to provide Afghans a warm and dignified welcome to the United States.

We coordinate immigration legal assistance for Afghans to safely remain in the U.S. without fear of being returned to Afghanistan and can be reunited with their families.
