Panel Discussion: LGBTI Rights Challenges in Africa

Washington, D.C., Tuesday, October 19, 2010 Human Rights First, in conjunction with the Open Society Foundations, Human Rights Campaign, and the Council for Global Equality, will host a panel discussion on LGBTI Rights Challenges in Africa on Tuesday, October 19 at Human Rights Campaign. The panel will feature Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Rights, and Labor Michael Posner and several experts on human rights and sexual minorities, including HRF’s 2010 Human Rights Award recipient Julius Kaggwa; Cheikh Traore, Senior Advisor for Sexual Diversity, UN Development Programme; and HRF’s Jesse Bernstein, Senior Associate for the Refugee Protection Program.
