Joint Written Statement to the IACHR Rapporteurship on Human Mobility on Enforced Disappearances

Human Rights First joined a coalition of non-governmental organizations that represent indigent immigrants and asylum seekers at no cost. We write with grave concerns about escalating human rights and refugee law violations, including under immigration policies promulgated by the current U.S. administration. These violations include systematic denial of access to asylum, refoulement, abuses in government custody, arbitrary detention, and enforced disappearances.

We urge the Rapporteurship on Human Mobility to undertake appropriate action so that these unlawful policies and practices cease, and to consider any appropriate actions on behalf of the individuals already subjected to these rights-violating practices.
