Human Rights First Welcomes Senate Report On Private Security Contractor Reform
The Senate Armed Services Committee published a report detailing concerns with oversight and accountability of private security contractors. The Senate report follows a recent report by Human Rights First on the gaps in oversight and accountability of private security contractors since the deadly Blackwater attack on civilians in Nisoor Square, Baghdad. As the United States plans to increase private security contractors in both Iraq and Afghanistan, there remain significant questions about national security and human rights.
