Human Rights First Declaration in Tony N. et. al., v. USCIS

Human Rights First submitted a fact declaration filed in the federal lawsuit, Tony N. et. al., v. USCIS, by the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) and American Immigration Council (AIC) challenging delays in the adjudication of (c)(8) Employment Authorization Documents (EAD) renewal applications that go beyond the 180-day automatic extension period.

The declaration provides examples of the many ways people seeking asylum in the United States have been harmed by the U.S. government’s failure to timely process applications to renew EAD’s.
