Defense Bill Puts U.S. National Security at Risk

In this audio file we talked about the controversial National Defense Authorization Act, an annual defense bill  currently being considered by the Senate which has provisions that would  limit the ability of the U.S. government to deal with terrorism suspects. Human Rights First has been working to make sure that these provisions are removed from the bill since day one and have launched a campaign this summer to educate Congress about the dangers of passing them. Collectively, these provisions would undermine the effective counter-terrorism strategies that are already in place in the United States, and pose a significant threat to our national security.
