Pro Bono Training: Introduction to Detention Representation

In this training, the Refugee Representation team will provide an overview of the immigration detention system, including how individuals are placed in detention, the agencies involved, and the legal framework governing custody decisions. This introductory training will also cover basic advocacy strategies, common challenges faced by detained immigrants, and key considerations for representing detained asylum seekers and supporting individuals and families impacted by detention.
