Human Rights First Mourns the Loss of Kenneth Bacon

Washington, DC – Human Rights First Chief Executive Officer Elisa Massimino today issued the following statement mourning the death of Refugees International President Kenneth Bacon:

“Human Rights First mourns the passing of our friend Kenneth Bacon, president of Refugees International, and extends our deepest condolences to his family, his colleagues and his many friends. Ken was a passionate and effective advocate on behalf of refugees all over the world. Through his tireless efforts, he brought international attention and life-saving resources to millions of people displaced by violence and conflict. We were particularly grateful for Ken’s partnership in recent years as we worked together to advance protection for Iraqi refugees.  His sound judgment, quiet determination and clarity of purpose made him a powerful voice for those in flight from persecution and violence.  We were inspired by Ken’s example.  He will be greatly missed.”
