Aaron Zisser
Kroll Family Human Rights Fellow
Joined Human Rights First in 2007
As the Kroll Family Human Rights Fellow, Aaron Zisser works with the Washington, DC, office to influence U.S. law and policy to protect human rights defenders at risk around the world. Prior to joining Human Rights First, Aaron worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Jon P. McCalla, of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.
During law school, Aaron earned a Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies through Georgetown University's Institute for the Study of International Migration. He also participated in the International Women's Human Rights Clinic, which included a fact-finding mission to Swaziland to investigate the rights of women in marriage. Aaron has interned at the U.S. State Department, the Hotline for Migrant Workers (Israel), the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, the Washington affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union, the Southern Center for Human Rights, and the New Orleans public defender's office.
Aaron earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A., with distinction, from the University of California, Berkeley, in Comparative Literature.
